Serblin & Son

Serblin & Son is an Italian high-end audio manufacturer, focusing particularly on integrated amplifiers and preamplifiers. The company was founded by Italian audio designer Fabio Serblin, who is the nephew of Franco Serblin, the founder of the famous speaker manufacturer Sonus Faber.
Their best-known product line is the Frankie Integrated Amplifier, named in honor of Franco Serblin.

A Heritage of Sound and Craftsmanship.

Fabio Serblin is an Italian high-end audio designer who has been involved in the development of Sonus Faber electronics and later created his own amplifier brands. He is regarded in the hi-fi world as a respected designer of analog amplifiers.

The Frankie amplifier has received attention because it combines analog purity, a large power supply, musical sound, craftsmanship, and exclusivity. Hi-fi magazines often praise it as a “high-end gem” that plays music the way the artist intended.

Press Opinion

What do hi-fi journalists think about the quality of Serblin & Son?

  • A small masterpiece that captivates.

In conclusion, the Frankie integrated amplifier from Serblin & Son is a hi-fi component that impressed me completely.
Long listening sessions are effortless and entirely fatigue-free, making them genuinely enjoyable. Above all, however, it is the amplifier’s sense of musical refinement and tonal sophistication that brings the listener closer not only to the experience of listening, but to the music itself.
When everything is taken into account — the sonic performance, the exceptionally tasteful design, the outstanding tactile quality, and the asking price — I can only describe this product as an extraordinary success.

  • A new player in the integrated amplifier market with a great deal to say.

I must say that it took me more than two weeks to fully understand the character of the Frankie — limited time sometimes forces us to evaluate components in ways that are far from ideal — and my conclusion is that we are dealing with an excellent piece of equipment.
It is serious, capable, and highly respectful of recordings on physical media, while, as one would expect, remaining uncompromising with material that falls short in sound quality. This amplifier is particularly well suited to partnering with loudspeakers of متوسط to moderately high sensitivity, where it performs at its very best and delivers a highly refined presentation: fluid, warm, and full-bodied, yet never excessive. Everything is perfectly balanced.
This is an amplifier designed, quite simply, for listening to music — for enjoying the ultimate purpose of our hobby, rather than dissecting and analyzing it, which is often what many systems lead us to do. The Frankie is a musical, elegant, and engaging amplifier, one that allows its owner to live with it comfortably, without constantly questioning what they are hearing. That, without doubt, is one of its greatest strengths.
I would strongly recommend giving it an opportunity, but only after listening to it carefully and at length. It is not suitable for every type of loudspeaker, nor probably for every type of source component, although the latter is generally easier to manage than the former.
Total naturalness and an absence of coloration — if I may summarize it in a single sentence.
